Research Integrity

• All faculty, staff, and students involved in research at Baylor must maintain a high level of ethical and moral behavior and must adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, funding agency requirements and professional standards. Furthermore, all research projects should be supportive of and consistent with the university's Christian mission.

• Some federal agencies require that all students (graduate and undergraduate) working on funded research must complete training on responsible conduct of research (RCR).

• The National Science Foundation (NSF) requires that grant applicants "provide appropriate training and oversight in the responsible and ethical conduct of research to undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers" who will be supported by NSF to conduct research. • The National Institutes of Health (NIH) requires that all trainees, fellows, participants, and scholars receiving support through any NIH training, career development award (individual or institutional), research education grant, and dissertation research grant must receive instruction in responsible conduct of research. • The US Department of Health & Human Services' Office of Research Integrity has provided an interactive video that allows viewers to evaluate real-world ethical decisions from four different perspectives. ("The Lab: Avoiding Research Misconduct")
