Innovation & Economic Development
Baylor University's Office of Innovation & Economic Development supports institution- wide efforts to increase the quality and quantity of activity and outcomes around innovation, startups, and job creation with an emphasis on enhancing Waco's technology economic and innovation development ecosystem.
The five key functions of this office include:
Applied Research and Technology Development
Applied research and technology development provides resources and services, including lab facilities, grant writing assistance, technology commercialization guidance, and industry contacts.
Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer
IP and tech transfer supports faculty inventions from disclosures through patenting, licensing, and/ or commercial formation.
Startup Support
Startup Support offers diverse programs to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with skills and knowledge needed to launch and scale startups.
Technology Commercialization
Technology commercialization connects research and innovation with commercial success.
Technology and Innovation Ecosystem
Technology and Innovation Ecosystem development works to strengthen the local innovation landscape.
