Baylor Gameroom and Bowling: The Baylor Gameroom exists to build community amongst Baylor students, faculty, and staff. Located on the lower level of the Bill Daniel Student Center, our facilities boast 5 state-of-the-art bowling lanes, billiard tables, foosball tables, ping pong, shuffleboard, classic board games, and a TV lounge with Wii capability.
Baylor Marina The Pullin Family Marina provides kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, sunfish sailboats, life vests, and various sports equipment. A valid Baylor ID is required to check out equipment.
Cameron Park Zoo Cameron Park Zoo rests on 52 acres adjacent to the Brazos River in Waco, Texas. Lush native vegetation surrounds splashing waterfalls, a picturesque lake, and ponds. With natural habitats and close-up encounters, the animal collection housed at Cameron Park Zoo includes more than 1,731 animals, representing 300 species. In August of 2009, Cameron Park Zoo opened the Asian Forest, featuring critically endangered Orangutans, Sumatran tigers, and Komodo Dragons.
Dr. Pepper Museum Built in 1906 by architect Milton Scott, the Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company was the first building dedicated to the manufacturing of Dr Pepper. Creating a Dr Pepper Museum was the vision of a few devoted enthusiasts of both Dr Pepper and its history. The Artesian Manufacturing and Bottling Company became the Dr Pepper Museum in 1989, then the Dr Pepper Museum and Free Enterprise Institute in 1997. Today it is the Museum’s largest artifact and a tribute to the imagination and talent that fueled Dr Pepper’s success throughout the years.
Waco Mammoth Site The five-acre Waco Mammoth National Monument sits within 100+ acres of wooded parkland along the Bosque River. Surrounded by oak, mesquite and cedar trees, the site offers an escape from the modern world and provides a glimpse into the lives of Columbian mammoths.
Mayborn Museum Complex Created to house 3 separate museum collections, the Mayborn Museum has educational fun for children and adults with year-round exhibits of local and regional interest and entire interactive play area for little tikes. Also, interesting visiting exhibits and a "historic village" and many special events.
Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum: Our mission is to disseminate knowledge and inspire appreciation of the Texas Rangers, a legendary symbol of Texas and the American West; To collect, preserve, study and exhibit artifacts, artwork and archives relating to the Texas Ranger service; To permanently document and honor the service of Texas Rangers past and present.
Texas Sports Hall of Fame: Home of more than 300 Texas legends, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame also houses the Texas Tennis Museum and Hall of Fame and Texas High School Football Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame expanded in 2010 to include the Health, Fitness and Education Center and Texas’ preeminent college conference, the Southwest Conference (SWC)
Spray Parks and Pools Waco offers six free spray pads in parks around Waco that shoot water in every direction. Splash pads are open during park hours from May to September. Spray park locations:
