Updated IRB Consent Templates and Guidance

Effective August 1st, new consent form templates and associated guidance will be available for researchers conducting research with human subjects. It is strongly recommended that these templates be used in the construction of consent forms submitted to the IRB. Use of the templates ensures that the consent forms meet legal and regulatory requirements for consent as well as standards of readability and comprehension. Not using the consent templates may lead to delays in IRB review and approval due to modifications being required.
